Help Keep Science & Nature Co Open at Tsawwassen Mills

I hope this email finds you well. It is with a heavy heart that I reach out to inform you of a concerning development regarding our store at Tsawwassen Mills.

Despite our best efforts and numerous appeals, the management of Tsawwassen Mills, now under Central Walk, the new property management company, has informed us that they are unwilling to extend our lease.  Consequently, we must vacate the premises by the end of this month, June 30.  This decision comes as a devastating blow to us, as we have been a part of the Tsawwassen Mills community since 2018 and have been in business in BC since 1988.  Relocating is financially daunting; estimates exceed $250,000, and just moving fixtures, products, and storage costs over $50,000 alone.  Without significant funding within a short time frame, relocation isn't feasible.

Your support has been invaluable, and we've cherished being your go-to spot for unique science-related products. Recent reviews attest to the positive impact we've had:

These testimonials reflect the unique experience we offer and the positive role we play in the community.  We are proud to have served over four generations of customers, with some of our ex-staff now returning to shop with their own children.  We believe our store adds immense value to Tsawwassen Mills, both as a unique shopping destination and a vital community asset.  Without our presence, the mall would lose a valuable asset, and our loyal customers would be left without a beloved store.

We are now turning to you, our valued customers and supporters, for help.  We ask that you consider writing a letter and signing a petition addressed to the following directors, who are pivotal decision-makers at Central Walk.  Express why our store is important to you and how our continued presence would benefit the community. Without the ability to remain, permanent closure is inevitable. Even the logistics of removing, transporting, and arranging storage for our fixtures and products present daunting challenges due to substantial costs and time constraints involved.
