Colour filters enhance planetary imaging. Every refractive system, (lenses, correctors, eyepieces, etc.) produces Chromatic Focal Shift: The different colors focus on different planes. By isolating one color more detail will become apparent. Always use a contrasting color to what you are observing.

Orange Filter (#21)
It helps increase the contrast between light and dark areas, penetrates clouds, and assists in detecting dust storms on Mars. It also helps bring out the Great Red Spot and sharpen the contrast on Jupiter. Also recommended for Uranus and Neptune.
Green Filter (#11)
It enhances frost patches, surface fogs, and polar projections on Mars, the ring system on Saturn, belts on Jupiter, and works as a general-purpose filter when viewing the Moon. Recommended for Mars
Can be stacked with 80A (light blue filter)
Blue Filter (#80A)
It provides detail in atmospheric clouds on Mars, increases contrast on the moon, brings out detail in belts and polar features on Saturn, and enhances contrast on Jupiter's bright areas and cloud boundaries. It also helps split the binary star Antares when at maximum separation. Recommended for Mars and Saturn
Neutral Density Filter 25% (ND25)
Neutral density filters can reduce brightness across the visual spectrum without losing resolution, enhancing lunar-planetary observation. Can be used stacked with color filters. The ND25 transmits 25% and threads into all 1.25" accessories.
